Never seen woodpeckers other then solitary and the ones I've seen avoid people at all costs. I have also never seen chickadees so clustered together let alone on ones hand. I wonder how they did this.
Couldn't imagine boys these days constructing bird houses like the kids in this film do. Chiseling out logs and driving those nails. Perhaps they already have several years seniority at the local carpentry mill or box factory.
